Denver is known for its laid-back atmosphere and world-class outdoor recreation, but the city also offers plenty of sophisticated ways to spend Valentine’s Day weekend. We’ve got you covered with a dreamy itinerary of spots sure to wow that special someone. Read on to see what we have planned for this weekend of love.
Whether you’re visiting the Mile High City from out of town or just planning a romantic staycation, the Halcyon Hotel in Denver’s upscale Cherry Creek neighborhood is a great jumping-off point to explore the city. Plus, the hotel is currently running a special Valentine’s Day package that includes a $50 cocktail voucher, a bottle of sparkling wine, luxurious satin eye masks and more.
Relax and Rejuvenate
After checking in, it’s time for a stroll (or a complimentary Escalade ride courtesy of the Halcyon) to the day’s first destination: Pura Vida Fitness and Spa, a five-minute walk from the Halcyon. The hotel offers exclusive access to this Cherry Creek hot spot. The spa’s Couple’s Retreat package includes two Swedish massages, aromatherapy, a glass of Champagne each, and chocolate truffles. Be sure to grab a cup of coffee at Aviano on the way.
Feeling refreshed? Head back to the Halcyon to get ready for the rest of the evening’s activities. Before dinner reservations, there’s a spot you shouldn’t miss on Halcyon’s property for a pre-dinner aperitif—time to put those cocktail coupons to use. B&GC is a (relatively) secret, underground speakeasy with playful drinks and an upscale atmosphere. We’ll leave figuring out how to get there up to you—that’s part of the fun, after all. (But if you really get stuck, the staff at Halcyon can help out.)

With a quick cab ride across town, you’re off to this trendy new spot in Denver’s Sunnyside neighborhood. The Wolf’s Tailor, helmed by chef Kelly Whitaker, opened in September 2018 and features Whitaker and features Italian and Asian influences from Whitaker’s travels. Partake in the restaurant’s four-course Valentine’s Day tasting menu from Wednesday, Feb. 13 to Sunday, Feb. 17.
After dinner, it’s time for the evening’s pièce de résistance: a special Valentine’s Day show with the Colorado Symphony at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver’s LoDo neighborhood. The performance, running from Thursday, Feb. 14 to Sunday, Feb. 17, features selections from Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story, as well as Neruda Songs, a collection of five sonnets by famed poet Pablo Neruda exploring the arc of love’s evolution. Cuddle close and take in the music together.
We hope this guide helps you and your significant other make the most of this special weekend. From all of us at Inspirato, happy Valentine’s Day!
