At any Inspirato home, travelers have a Destination Concierge on-site to take care of logistics and details, from pre-arrival grocery delivery to local activity recommendations and even special surprises. But sometimes, Inspirato travelers’ plans go above and beyond the typical itinerary—and concierge service is always ready to rise to the occasion.
Inspirato members Cindy and Jeff Westcott, along with their daughter Elisabeth and her boyfriend Zach, traveled to Vail, Colorado, just after Thanksgiving for a seven-night family getaway. Cindy had visited years before, but Elisabeth had never been, so she and Zach were sure to take advantage of the area’s famous slopes.
Little did the rest of the family know, Zach had plans beyond skiing—he planned to surprise Elisabeth by proposing to her while they were in Vail. With the beautiful, snow-capped Rocky Mountains as a backdrop, it was an ideal place and time to create a special romantic memory. However, pulling off such a surprise would require time and detailed planning, so Zach surreptitiously coordinated the whole thing with his on-site Destination Concierge, Danielle.
“Zach and I texted throughout the week, and I offered four different locations, ideas, and plans for how the day could work,” Danielle explained. “I wanted to make sure he had options and to tailor the day to go above and beyond their expectations.”
Danielle scoped out possible locations at the top of a mountain; she also volunteered to secretly snap photos of the proposal, so she tested out lighting and spots where she could hide from Elisabeth’s view. After finding the right place, she coordinated with mountain resort staff so that the Westcotts could enter a roped-off, remote area with views of Mount Holy Cross, a particularly special mountain for Elisabeth.
Partway through the week, Zach covertly acquired Cindy and Jeff’s blessing to marry Elisabeth. Two days before their departure, he gathered the group and suggested that everyone head to the top of the mountain.
“My parents don’t ski, so they hadn’t been to the top of the mountain,” Elisabeth said. “By the end of the week, we wanted to all go up together so they could see what we were seeing while we were skiing.”
Once the family got to the summit, the plans were laid—almost. Getting into the off-limits, roped-off section Danielle and Zach chose took an extra push.
“Zach mentioned Elisabeth was a rule follower so I had the staff up at the Alpine Coaster—right by the rope they had to go under—encourage them to head on over to where Zach was going to propose for the best views,” Danielle said.
In the perfect spot, with stunning views of Mount Holy Cross in the distance, Zach proposed and Elisabeth said yes. The couple is currently planning a May wedding, and their Inspirato travels won’t end after Vail: they plan to take their honeymoon at Banyan Tree Mayakoba, an Inspirato resort partner in Riviera Maya, Mexico.

“We’ve had amazing experiences with Inspirato,” Elisabeth said. “We’re never worried about what you see online not being what you see when you get there. The customer service is phenomenal. It’s always above and beyond.”
That sentiment is shared among the rest of the family.
“We are really enjoying being Inspirato members. I just can’t say enough about the staff. They’re so helpful and the service is phenomenal,” Cindy said.
